Home > Certification Mark Use Policy

1. Purpose

This policy defines the rules for using the ESI Certification Mark by organisations certified by Essential Standardization Institution (ESI). The objective is to ensure correct, ethical, and authorised use of the certification mark.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all organisations holding a valid management system certification issued by ESI. The certification mark may be used only for the scope and standard for which certification has been granted.

3. Authorization to Use Certification Mark

ESI grants permission to use its Certification Mark only to ESI-certified organisations. Each organisation is authorised to use only the mark related to its approved certification scope.

4. Use with Accreditation Mark

The ESI Certification Mark may be used alone or together with the applicable Accreditation Mark shown on the certificate. The mark must always be displayed in a manner consistent with certification details.

5. Purpose of Certification Mark

The certification mark is a marketing and credibility tool to demonstrate compliance with management system standards. ESI encourages correct use of the mark to promote certified management system performance.

6. Permitted Usage Areas

Certified organisations may use the ESI Certification Mark on business cards, email signatures, websites, brochures, marketing materials, internal communications, social media, annual reports, and press releases.

7. Restrictions on Transfer and Misuse

Permission to use the certification mark is non-transferable and cannot be assigned to any other organisation or entity. The mark must not be altered, modified, or used misleadingly.

8. Prohibited Use on Products

The ESI Certification Mark shall not be displayed on products or product packaging, as this may falsely imply product certification or testing by ESI.

9. Monitoring and Control of Mark Usage

If ESI receives information about incorrect or unauthorised use of the certification mark, the usage will be reviewed. The concerned organisation will be instructed to immediately stop the misuse.

10. Corrective and Legal Action

If misuse is not corrected within the specified time, ESI reserves the right to take appropriate corrective or legal action. Continued misuse may result in suspension or withdrawal of certification.

11. Protection of Reputation and Trust

Certified organisations shall not use the certification mark in any way that damages the reputation of ESI, the accreditation body, or the certification system. Misleading or false claims are strictly prohibited.

12. Use After Scope Reduction or Certification Withdrawal

In case of scope reduction, suspension, withdrawal, or termination of certification, the organisation must immediately stop using or amend all materials referring to ESI certification.

13. Certification Marks

ESI Certification Marks are issued to certified organisations along with their respective certificates. Only approved and officially issued marks shall be used for promotional or informational purposes.
